You receive this automatically if you participate in TimCare Flex.

It provides a benefit of $25,000 to your beneficiaries if you die in an accident. The benefit is different in some versions of the plan; amount will be shown when you enrol. Smaller benefits are paid to you if you lose a limb or your sight or hearing in an accident.

Coverage ends at retirement or age 70, whichever comes first.

You must work at least 28 hours per week on average to qualify for Long-Term Disability coverage.

If you qualify, you will have two options. If you have additional options, you’ll see them when you visit the GroupNet Flex enrolment site.

Core Long-Term Disability

  • Pays you $1,000 per month if you are disabled and unable to work.
  • Benefit paid for up to 2 years or to age 65, whichever is earlier.

The plan is designed to provide a basic level of coverage to all eligible Team Members. If you are eligible for the plan and don’t refuse coverage, the minimum coverage you will get includes these benefits:

  • Core Health Coverage
  • Core Life Insurance
  • Core Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
  • Core Long-Term Disability Coverage (but only if you work at least 28 hours per week on average)

You may opt out of Health Coverage if you have coverage under another health care plan, such as your spouse’s plan.

If you are eligible for TimCare and live in Québec, provincial law requires that you choose health coverage for yourself and all your eligible dependents, unless you and your dependents have coverage through another non-provincial plan (another plan other than RAMQ).
